/* PL-521. Latin subsets of the three Inter faces the storefront actually downloads.
 *
 * WHAT THIS IS NOT
 * It is NOT the `variable-only` font policy in storefront_css.py. That one DROPS the
 * eighteen static Inter @font-face blocks, which SPEC-F correctly flagged as a visible
 * brand call: text that resolves to a drawn static face falls back to InterVariable and
 * the italic in particular renders from a different file.
 *
 * This file changes nothing on screen. Every face keeps its family, style, weight range
 * and display behaviour, byte for byte against website.bundle.css. The only thing that
 * changes is which FILE each src points at: a latin subset of the identical font, built
 * with pyftsubset from the exact files production serves today.
 *
 * SPEC-F's conclusion stands and is not contradicted here. It proved you cannot stop the
 * static family activating by editing --font-stack or by aliasing the italic pin, because
 * the browser activates it off the font files' own internal metadata. True. The move this
 * file makes is different: do not try to stop them loading, make them small.
 *
 * MEASURED 2026-10-01, pyftsubset against the live files:
 *   InterVariable        345,588 -> 67,784   -80.3%
 *   Inter-Regular        108,488 -> 18,368   -83.0%
 *   Inter-MediumItalic   118,392 -> 20,296   -82.8%
 *   TOTAL                572,468 -> 106,448  -81.4%   = 455 KiB per cold visit
 *
 * Both variable axes are preserved: opsz 14-32 and wght 100-900. 418 glyphs per face.
 *
 * COVERAGE: latin plus the punctuation, currency and symbol ranges Google Fonts ships in
 * its `latin` subset. That covers English and Spanish, which are the two languages the
 * storefront serves. A codepoint outside the range (Polish, Vietnamese, CJK) falls back to
 * the next family in the stack, which is the system font, exactly as it would for any
 * glyph a font lacks. It renders; it is not tofu.
 *
 * 🔴 ORDER IS LOAD-BEARING. These rules only win because this file is injected into
 * web_include_css, which the base template emits AFTER website.bundle.css. For identical
 * @font-face descriptors the last declaration wins. Move this earlier and frappe's full
 * files load instead, silently, with no error.
 *
 * 🔴 InterVariable-Italic is deliberately NOT overridden. It does not download on any
 * measured route today, so subsetting it would be unverified work on a file nobody fetches.
 * If it ever starts loading, subset it the same way rather than leaving it at full size.
 *
 * Filenames carry -v1. /assets/ is served immutable, so a future re-subset must change the
 * filename or caches will keep the old bytes forever.
