Accessibility

Shipley Farms wants anyone to be able to buy beef from us. If any part of this website gets in your way, tell us and we will take your order directly and fix the page.

Reach a person

Email beef@shipleyfarmsbeef.com or call the farm store during opening hours. Tell us the page you were on and what happened. We aim to reply within one business day, and we will complete your order by email or phone in the meantime so that a website problem never costs you your order.

What standard we aim at

We aim at the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Conformance status

Partially conformant. That means some parts of this site do not yet fully meet the standard, and we are not going to describe it as more complete than we have measured it to be. Specifically:

Measured

  • Our public status and reporting pages are checked automatically on every style change for text contrast at 7:1, non-text contrast at 3:1, a minimum 14 pixel type size, and capped line length.
  • The charts in our published reports are checked by an automated geometry checker for overlapping and colliding labels.

Not yet measured

  • The shop itself — product pages, the cart and checkout have not had a full accessibility audit. This is the most important gap and it is the one we are working on next.
  • Screen reader and keyboard testing by a person, rather than by an automated checker. Automated tools cannot tell whether an image description is useful, whether the focus order makes sense, or whether the reading level is reasonable.
  • Our PDF documents have not been validated against PDF/UA.

Known problems

  • Some PDFs we publish are not tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will send the same information as plain text or read it to you over the phone.
  • Parts of the shop have not been tested with assistive technology, so we cannot yet promise they work with it. If you hit one, the email address above is the fastest route to both your beef and a fix.

How you can help

A specific report is worth more to us than a general one. The page address, the browser or assistive technology you use, and what you expected to happen are enough for us to reproduce almost anything.

This statement

Prepared 2026-10-24. It describes what we had measured on that date. We will revise it when the shop audit is done rather than leaving a stale claim in place.
