Send this card to F.A.R.M. Cafe instead of to someone you know.
We take it to their kitchen ourselves.
F.A.R.M. Cafe has served lunch on West King Street in Boone since
2012, in the old Boone Drug building downtown. It is a donate what you can kitchen.
You pay the suggested price, or a bit more than it, or what you can, or you
volunteer an hour. Children under twelve eat free. Everybody eats.
See F.A.R.M. Cafe on Google Maps, for their photographs,
hours and reviews.
What your card does. It goes to the cafe, not to a general fund and
not back to us. Their cooks spend it on the beef they are actually short of that
week, which is a thing a working kitchen knows and a donor cannot. They buy from
Shipley Farms at wholesale rather than at the prices on this website, and we keep
working on that number with them, so what you give feeds more people.
How many people your card helps feed
| Your card | Helps feed |
| $25 | about 12 to 25 people |
| $50 | about 24 to 50 people |
| $100 | about 49 to 100 people |
| $250 | about 123 to 250 people |
Their cooks decide what to make and who walks through the door
that day, so treat this as the size of the thing rather than a promise.
You do not need an email address. Leave it blank. We credit
F.A.R.M. Cafe's account with us for the full amount and tell their team it has
landed, so the value reaches the kitchen rather than sitting in somebody's inbox.
We cannot tell you whether this is tax deductible, because that
depends on facts about you and about the cafe that we are not in a position to
judge. Keep your receipt, ask F.A.R.M. Cafe for their acknowledgment, and ask your
own tax adviser. If you would rather give the cafe money directly, or stand behind
that counter for an hour, they take both.
