Shipley Farms is a fifth-generation cattle farm in Watauga County, in the North Carolina High Country. We raise the cattle, dry-age the beef on the bone, and cut it to your order. You can collect it from us in Vilas, Boone or Blowing Rock, or we will ship it to you.

How it is raised
One standard, and we know every farm that meets it
Farms in these mountains are small, and you can only raise so much. So Shipley Farms raises what it can on its own ground in Watauga County, and partners with sister farms that raise to the same standards.
- No added hormones. Our beef is free of added hormones and steroids, and is never treated with antibiotics except when medically necessary to treat a temporary illness.
- Dry-aged on the bone, in-house. Aged on our own schedule until it is ready. Nobody else sets that clock for us.
- Cut to your order. Your cuts are taken after you order, not pulled from a case.
- USDA inspected. All of our beef is USDA inspected.

By the cut, by the box, or by the half
Individual cuts
Steaks, roasts, ground beef and specialty cuts, priced by the pound. Your card is charged for the weight actually packed.
Freezer beef and beef shares
A half, a quarter or a whole animal, cut to your list and packed for the freezer.

If you are not local
We ship from the farm
UPS collects from Vilas any day of the week. Most of the East Coast is two business days or less by ground. Orders ship frozen, packed with gel packs and insulation, and arrive frozen or partially frozen. Or choose free pick-up at any of the three locations above.
